Pro Mujer Nicaragua Receives Gold Certification in Client Protection

Pro Mujer Nicaragua received the highest possible certification in client protection from CERISE and Social Performance Task Force (SPTF), two institutions tasked with ensuring that financial service providers comply with client protection standards.

Since its inception, Pro Mujer Nicaragua has placed its users at the center of its work. Thanks to its commitment to and compliance with the rigorous guidelines defined in the Client Protection Principles, it was recently recognized with Gold Certification from CERISE and SPTF.

The assessment was based on various indicators used to ensure that financial service providers act fairly and transparently with clients while promoting trust, security, and institutional stability. Pro Mujer received the highest possible score across all seven of the client protection principles:

• Appropriate product design and delivery
• Prevention of over-indebtedness
• Transparency
• Responsible pricing
• Fair and respectful treatment of clients
• Privacy of client data
• Mechanisms for complaint resolution

This recognition comes after international consulting firm 60 Decibels highlighted Pro Mujer Nicaragua as the microfinance organization with the most significant social impact in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2022.
