Voices from the Field

By Tania Calderon, Director of Marketing, Pro Mujer in Mexico

For Pro Mujer clients, instilling in their children a sense of responsibility, dedicating themselves to their work and contributing to the well-being of the overall community is vitally important.

As a mission-driven organization, we believe that it is not only important to support our clients but also future generations. Through the generous support of Stanley Eisenberg and Mary Jones, Pro Mujer in Mexico is offering free school supplies to the children of Pro Mujer clients in the State of Hidalgo who maintain at least an 8.5 grade point average (B+) in primary and/or secondary school.

Back-to-school kits for client's children in elementary and middle school.

In addition to free school supplies, we are encouraging these children to submit a piece of writing explaining what their mother’s participation in Pro Mujer has meant to them. The author of the best article describing what they have learned from the enterprising work of their mothers will win a new computer.

The call for submissions closed on July 31st and the school supplies – approximately 60 packages – will be distributed during the month of August and September.

Stay tuned for the winning paper!
