Women Share Leadership Advice in New Digital Book

11 febrero, 2022

Bolivia

Pro Mujer organized a free online event to bring women from all walks of life together to discuss how to draw strength from the challenges that arise in their daily lives and become strong leaders.

For Saavedra Ordóñez, a community leader and politician in Potosí, Bolivia, being a leader implies, “being with the community, being committed, being prepared and having the self-esteem and courage to help other women.” For Andrea Ibáñez, one of the first female tattoo artists who opened her own space in La Paz, Bolivia, a leader is, “someone who does not act as a boss, but becomes part of the team she works with and directs it, understanding the needs of each person.”

Like Saavedra and Andrea, the women who participated in Pro Mujer’s online event have diverse and inclusive visions of what defines a female leader, mirroring the unique realities that all women experience throughout their life. Having researched and talked with women leaders for months leading up to this event, Pro Mujer used the opportunity to officially launch its interactive digital book title, “The leader that exists in you.” Pro Mujer hopes the book will help create a new definition of female leadership, encompassing all the different ways that women lead.

Pro Mujer is still collecting more stories of inspiring women leaders. Learn how to participate and more about the project: https://promujer.org.bo/liderazgo-femenino/
