Three Moments of Recognition That Demonstrate Our Impact

Bolivia

1. Recognition for Resilience

Pro Mujer was awarded the Recognition for Resilience by the National Chamber of Industries and the European Union for a robot that supports auxiliary services in Pro Mujer offices. Presented to Pro Mujer by two Bolivian media who specialize in corporate social responsibility, the new technology has helped decrease work hours, operating costs, paper use and more, all amidst the challenges brought about by the pandemic and economic crisis. For example, before the robot, bank tellers spent the 25 minutes on auxiliary services and now they only spend an average of two minutes. Additionally, each official who previously used 11 sheets of paper now uses only two, which has made it possible to decrease the 15,120 sheets that were being used per month before the technology was introduced.

2. Recognition for Contributing to Progress on SDG 3

Pro Mujer received important awards recognizing its work improving the lives of over 150,000 women in Bolivia and advancing toward two of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries in global partnership.

One of these awards was for advancing SDG 3, which refers to guaranteeing a healthy life and promoting well-being for all at all ages, for Pro Mujer’s community health workers project in Bolivia. As part of this project, Pro Mujer created a team of more than 120 women leaders, formally trained in preventive health care, who carried out more than 22,000 health screenings in 2021 to identify risk factors for non-communicable diseases, provide counseling on sexual and reproductive health, prevent gender-based violence and prioritize mental health for more than 18,000 women.

3. Recognition for Contributing to Progress on SDG 9

In recognition of its contributions advancing SDG 9, which refers to building resilient infrastructures, promoting sustainable industrialization and fostering innovation, Pro Mujer received an award for its “Unified Consultation Robot” project, which consults with different information bureaus to streamline the analysis and granting of credits. With this initiative, Pro Mujer managed to reduce resources, such as paper, promote technological innovation and improve customer satisfaction.
