Within the framework of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Pro Mujer promotes the CCNA course: Introduction to computer networks directed by Cisco Networking, Woman Speed Up and the United States Embassy.

This course is aimed at women over the age of 18 who have a computer with internet access and are interested in preparing for a career in systems engineering or computer science and obtain a certificate completely free of charge.

This initiative seeks to close the gender gap that exists in terms of technology. According to the United Nations, women are four times less likely to acquire basic digital skills and only 3 out of 10 people who participate in STEM careers (Science , Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) are women.

At Pro Mujer we encourage women to train in these fields to transform the paradigm of gender stereotypes that exist in the area of science and technology and reverse the inequality that persists in these fields.

In this sense, it is worth noting that under the “Mujeres Online” program that we launched in 2019 in coordination with CISCO, we trained 1,504 people in technological skills, of which 70% are women.
