Rumbos Magazine Features Pro Mujer’s Work and Clients in Salta, Jujuy and Tucuman, Argentina

Press, The Women of Pro Mujer
In the June edition of the Argentine magazine Rumbos, journalist Silvia Merchant highlights the work of Pro Mujer in three cities – Salta, Jujuy and Tucumán – in the far northwest corner of the country. It is in this region that poverty, unemployment and malnutrition are rampant, more so than in any other part of Argentina. It is also the place where Pro Mujer chose to begin operations in 2005.
Before joining Pro Mujer, the women featured in the article were denied access to credit due to lack of personal income or a guarantor. A loan of just 100 pesos (approximately US$25) has proven enough for them to launch or expand their own businesses and build a better future for themselves and their families.
