Pro Mujer to Collaborate with Guatemala Escala to Support the Development of Women in Guatemala

A year ago, Pro Mujer launched in Guatemala to support underserved women with relevant resources and tools to reach their full potential, become agents of change, and transform their lives and those of their communities. 

During our first year of operations in Guatemala, we connected with other organizations, both regional and local, that seek to empower women and their communities, including Guatemala Escala, a social enterprise that promotes inclusive and sustainable community development through sports and ecotourism.

 The organization contributes to economic development in Guatemala by creating job opportunities, generating infrastructure, and promoting women’s entrepreneurship in the tourism sector. 

And now we’re joining forces to form a strategic alliance that will directly impact women entrepreneurs in Guatemala.

As part of our efforts to empower women in Guatemala, Pro Mujer will bring its comprehensive model and intersectional approach to Guatemala Escala’s network of women, who will be able to access a full range of skilling opportunities through the Emprende Pro Mujer entrepreneurial training platform and will have the opportunity to access the capital necessary to grow and invest in their businesses.

This partnership will initially run for 3 years, allowing Pro Mujer to reach more women, adding to the more than 2,500 people it has impacted since opening its Guatemala City office in 2022.
