Pro Mujer, the social enterprise that has been working to advance gender equality in the region for more than 32 years is delighted to announce that it has joined the 2X Collaborative, a global industry body focused on increasing the volume and impact of capital directed towards women’s economic empowerment worldwide.

“We are thrilled to join the 2X Collaborative network. With more than 32 years of experience deploying more than $4.4 billion dollars in loans to women entrepreneurs and being one of the pioneer organizations promoting gender lens investing in Latin America, we can bring to the table our knowledge, our lessons learned, and our commitment to keep advancing GLI in the region” said Carmen Correa, Pro Mujer CEO. “We look forward to learning from all other members and investors, sharing solutions, and validating innovative financial tools that will allow us to keep mobilizing more capital toward Latin American women” She added.

Jessica Espinoza, CEO of 2XCollaborative, expressed, “We are pleased to welcome Pro Mujer to 2XCollaborative and look forward to their contributions as a leading organization that has been promoting gender lens investing in Latin America for over more than 32 years. I’m sure that their expertise in working closely with women in the region will offer valuable insights to our working groups”

Pro Mujer continues developing initiatives to boost gender lens investment in Latin America. Earlier this year the organization started offering a wide array of consulting services through its Gender Knowledge Lab. Building on the expertise they have acquired over the last decades, Pro Mujer provides technical assistance to help the investment sector in investing with a gender lens and supports the public and private sectors -as well as civil society organizations- to incorporate gender mainstreaming strategies within their operations

Furthermore, next November Pro Mujer will host in Antigua, Guatemala, the third edition of the GLI FORUM LATAM, an event that aims to position Gender Lens Investment as an effective mechanism to advance equality and boost the development of regional economies.
