In August, the Pro Mujer team brought together more than 200 women at an event in Actopan, Hidalgo, to provide them with information and connect them with Pro Mujer’s integrated and holistic service offering that has impacted 2.5 million women in Mexico and Latin America.
During the event, more than 140 people received information on breast cancer and sexual and reproductive health and details on the financial education and skilling services that Pro Mujer offers.
The Tod@s por Ellas team also provided support and counseling to attendees on common myths about breast cancer, the importance of early detection, and how to perform self-exams and identify risk factors. After the event, more than 60 women signed up to be taken to Pachuca for a free mammogram. More than 100 attendees also participated in educational activities on family planning, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and gender-based violence.
Thanks to the participation of our incredible partners, women had the opportunity to participate in sessions on topics such as menopause, breast cancer, healthy nutrition, starting a business, and financial planning. The event also featured a large Expo Business section where Pro Mujer clients and women from the community were able to set up stands to sell their products.
The successful event was attended by the Municipal President Tatiana Ángeles Moreno from the Actopan City Council, Laura Vizzuet from Instancia de la Mujer, Citlali Aguayo, Anayansin Moreno from Misión Doña Margarita, and Gabriela Rojas from Sin Reglas.
Since 2001, Pro Mujer has been proud to support Mexican women. We currently have 16 offices in 8 states throughout Mexico: Hidalgo, State of Mexico, Mexico City, Chiapas, Yucatán, Campeche, Tabasco, and Oaxaca. In 2022, Pro Mujer Mexico offered 6,500 health services, provided 26,000 women with financial services, and gave 6,000 women access to skilling opportunities.
