GLI Forum Latam 2024: Connection Takes Center Stage

From June 4 to 6, we held the sixth edition of the GLI Forum Latam in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where we brought together investors, multilateral organizations, entrepreneurs, and representatives from the public, private, and academic sectors, in a space for connection to promote the gender agenda in Latin America.

With the participation of 970 attendees, over 40 panels, and 160 specialists from the region, the fifth edition of the GLI Forum Latam showed that connection is essential to drive transformative initiatives that generate long-term results. Sharing visions, building synergies, and developing concrete solutions enable overcoming challenges and moving toward a more equitable and fair landscape.

“If we want to change the [current] reality, we must connect,” a sentence with which Carmen Correa, CEO of Pro Mujer, opened the first day of sessions, encouraging the attendees to unlock the collective potential to achieve an inclusive future.

At Pro Mujer, we have been working toward this goal for over three decades. Through a holistic and comprehensive model, we seek to support Latin American women in vulnerable situations so that they may reach their full potential and positively impact their family, community, and environment.

Over 34 years on this path have allowed us to witness that women can become powerful agents of change with the right opportunities. The GLI Forum Latam is a reflection of this commitment, and year after year it becomes a space where local entrepreneurs have the opportunity to showcase and sell their products, build networks, speak with potential buyers and investors, and participate in essential sessions to drive the growth of their businesses.

In addition to forging links with local women entrepreneurs, the forum is a platform for meetings and connections between leading voices, multilateral organizations, and representatives from the investment world, the private sector, the public sector, and academia. The gathering of leaders at this pioneering and very relevant event not only marks a milestone but also catalyzes unstoppable change.

The words of Melinda Gates, quoted by Carmen Correa, resonate strongly in this space: “Set your own agenda, or someone else will set it for you.” This is the spirit that has driven the GLI Forum Latam for the past five years: to set its own agenda, one where women are the protagonists.

This event is, undoubtedly, a transformative movement. A space where connection becomes the strength needed to create a more prosperous and inclusive future for all women in Latin America.
