Pro Mujer Strengthens its Commitment to Women in Latin America as Part of the Women’s Digital Financial Inclusion Advocacy Hub

Pro Mujer was proud to take another step toward advancing gender equality in Latin America by joining the Women’s Digital Financial Inclusion (WDFI) Advocacy Hub, led by Women’s World Banking and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), with additional support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The WDFI Advocacy Hub seeks to bring together local, regional, and global stakeholders to accelerate progress in women’s digital financial inclusion. Women are disproportionately affected by poverty, social gaps, and marginalization, hindering their growth and prosperity. Global challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic have further exacerbated gender disparities, and action is urgently needed to address the consequences.

The WDFI Advocacy Hub recognizes that working together divides the tasks and multiplies the success. Achieving women’s digital and financial inclusion is the responsibility of governments, financial service providers, civil society organizations, and other parts of the ecosystem that have the power to generate a real impact. Investing in women’s economic empowerment not only contributes directly to gender equality but also translates into economic growth and more robust and resilient economies.

As part of its efforts to drive gender-responsive investment to increase women’s access to finance and digital equity, the WDFI Advocacy Hub launched an open letter signed by committed partners.

Pro Mujer is proud to be a part of this initiative, which seeks to change women’s lives and the lives of their families and communities. Ensuring fair and equitable access to digital technology, skills, and financial services brings us closer to a prosperous and equitable future.
