InnovaSalud Wins the “Entrepreneurs for Resilience” Award

As part of its integrated and holistic model, Pro Mujer offers a wide range of free and low-cost health and well-being services focused on preventing and treating diseases that primarily impact women.

In Bolivia, the public health system provides little preventative care, and many workers are not registered in the system. In light of this, Pro Mujer has increased its efforts to expand access to health services for more than 5 million people who currently do not have access to the public health care system (Office of the Ombudsman).

As part of this initiative, Pro Mujer joined forces with InnovaSalud, a Bolivian company that provides affordable primary health care services. The company now has a network of 31 clinics in Pro Mujer offices throughout Bolivia.

In 2022, more than 21,700 people accessed health services through Innovasalud clinics located in Pro Mujer offices. These clinics provided:

  • 4,650 Pap smears;
  • 12,050 blood glucose tests;
  • 18,456 BMI measurements;
  • 4,540 breast exams; and
  • 17,432 blood pressure screenings.

For its transformative work over the years, InnovaSalud was selected as the first prize winner of the “Entrepreneurs for Resilience” awards from the Swiss Re Foundation. After evaluating more than 300 projects from around the world, InnovaSalud was recognized for its innovative solutions that improve the health access of thousands of people.

As the first-place award winner, InnovaSalud was given a grant totaling USD 300,000 to expand its impact and coaching and technical advice from Swiss Re employees.

Congratulations to the InnovaSalud team for this incredible accomplishment!
