Pro Mujer, a social enterprise with more than 35 years of experience in Latin America, and Women in Nuclear Global (WiN Global), an international organization of women professionals in the nuclear sector, recently signed a strategic collaboration to promote the leadership, active participation, and professional development of women in key sectors, including energy, technology, sustainability, and climate action.
Women’s participation in STEM careers (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) remains limited. According to UNESCO, in 2024, women held only 22% of stem jobs in G20 countries. This partnership seeks to contribute to closing this gap, creating spaces for professional development, mentoring, and networking for women at various stages of their professional careers.
The main areas of focus of the partnership include:
- Support women’s participation in events, networks, and specialized groups from both organizations.
- Create mentoring opportunities to support the professional development of women in technical fields.
- Host joint events, workshops, and training programs.
- Promote gender-responsive climate action.
- Facilitate knowledge- and experience-sharing between leaders and experts.
“Pro Mujer is working to build a future where women are not only represented in all sectors, but are also leaders and drivers of change,” said Carmen Correa, CEO of Pro Mujer. “This collaboration is evidence of what we can achieve when we align purpose, conviction, and collective action by and for women.”
With this partnership, Pro Mujer and WiN Global reaffirm their commitment to building a more equitable, sustainable future where women are able to participate in strategic sectors globally.
