As part of the Day of Care, celebrated every October 29, we are proud to share that Pro Mujer Bolivia was recognized by UNICEF as a “Champion for Breastfeeding,” an acknowledgment that celebrates the policies and actions we promote to support women at every stage of their lives.
This recognition highlights Pro Mujer’s institutional commitment to creating inclusive, sensitive, and co-responsible work environments, where women can grow professionally without having to give up their right to breastfeed.
In 2024, Pro Mujer Bolivia inaugurated 18 mobile breastfeeding rooms across different branches nationwide—including Cochabamba, El Alto, Santa Cruz, Oruro, Sucre, Tarija, and La Paz. These spaces were designed to provide privacy, comfort, and safety for breastfeeding employees and are part of a comprehensive policy that also includes extended maternity and paternity leave, as well as support and awareness programs.
For Pro Mujer, breastfeeding is more than a health practice: it is a right and a form of care that sustains life. This commitment is reflected in concrete policies, training, support networks, and an institutional culture that promotes shared responsibility and family well-being.
The “Champion for Breastfeeding” seal inspires us to continue building a workplace where care is a shared and visible priority. Because at Pro Mujer, we believe that care is also a right—and when a woman grows and is cared for, everything around her grows too.
