Pro Mujer and Fundemex Commit to Strengthening Women’s Entrepreneurship in Mexico

In an effort to boost women’s economic development, Pro Mujer and the Fundación del Empresariado en México (Fundemex) signed a Collaboration Agreement that lays the foundation for joint action focused on economic inclusion, employability, and strengthening sustainable incomes in rural and underserved communities throughout Mexico.

The alliance, signed by Carmen Correa, CEO of Pro Mujer, and Jorge López Pérez, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fundemex, seeks to combine the resources, knowledge, and capabilities of both organizations to develop skilling initiatives, promote financial inclusion, connect value chains, and implement strategic lobbying initiatives, with a focus on maximizing the impact on rural and underserved communities.

These primary areas of focus are:

  • Developing productive capacities through technical skilling and business assistance
  • Implementing collaborative models of financial inclusion adapted to local contexts
  • Co-investments aimed at addressing social issues within a specific geographic area that engage various sectors and stakeholders
  • Research and innovation focused on good practices and gender lens investing

The collaboration will also prioritize participation in strategic advocacy initiatives to amplify the experiences of marginalized individuals and build coalitions for inclusive development.
