Transformative Partnerships: Working Together to Create Change

Change doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Accelerating progress on the Sustainable Development Goals—and gender equality—requires recognizing that change is, first and foremost, a collective effort.

In a global context that demands urgent, structural action, the GLI Forum Latam 2025 offered a vital space to weave networks, share lessons learned, and build initiatives with regional impact.

For three days, leading voices from the public and private sectors, financial and philanthropic industries, and civil society came together to focus on a common goal: building a more just future for all through investment, innovation, and collaboration. The GLI Forum encouraged multistakeholder collaboration, offering an opportunity to move from words to action and strengthen strategic partnerships to support women in Latin America.

Working Together to Accelerate Sustainable Development

In addition to providing a platform for learning and reflection on gender equality, the GLI Forum has become a space for fostering partnerships and announcing joint initiatives focused on accelerating progress toward the SDGs.

As Lorenzo Jiménez, UNDP Representative in Mexico, said: “The Forum is one more stone in the path toward the long-awaited goal of gender equality and the social equality of all men and women.”

Throughout the event, networking took center stage. Through spaces intentionally designed to facilitate connection, including thematic sessions, lunches, and co-creation workshops, participants had the opportunity to identify common interests, explore synergies, and initiate powerful conversations that will continue beyond the event.

We made valuable connections with potential partners and left with a stronger network,” said Johanna Granitzer, Deputy General Manager of Banco ProCredit Ecuador.

The GLI Forum showed once again that achieving a woman-centered approach to sustainable development requires collaboration across sectors and a strategic shift in how resources and philanthropy are mobilized.

From Connection to Action

Since 2020, the GLI Latam Forum has offered an opportunity for supporters of gender lens investing from across the region to come together to work toward more equitable, sustainable, and inclusive societies. Today, the GLI Forum is synonymous with collaboration, co-creation, and transformation.

During the sixth edition of the Forum, Pro Mujer announced new collaboration agreements with multilateral organizations, including UNFPA and UNDP, as well as with companies and organizations such as Fundemex, Clínicas del Azúcar, and Avanza Sólido. Pro Mujer also strengthened key partnerships with strategic players, including TikTok, the MetLife Foundation, the UPS Foundation, Visa Foundation, and Google.org.

These partnerships come at a pivotal point for the organization, as Pro Mujer recently launched a new strategy to impact 5 million women by 2030 by working with partners committed to gender equality.

At a time when women’s rights are facing setbacks and backlash around the world, the GLI Forum Latam demonstrated that renewing the collective conviction to advance gender equality is crucial, particularly in the face of backlash. The most effective response is increased action, evidence, and partnerships

What I always look for when I come to these events is connection. [Connection] nourishes me and also helps the organization I lead continue doing what we do,” shared Cecilia Foxworthy, CEO of Agora Partnerships. Her comments reflected a shared sentiment among participants of the importance of staying connected and working together to move forward, particularly in the face of adverse circumstances.

For the more than 1,700 people from 33 countries who attended the Forum, it was clear that the future is not built on fear, but on equality.  In a challenging context, the GLI Forum reaffirmed that progress on gender equality is most effective when it’s a collaborative effort, involving genuine partnerships, shared goals, and a diverse group of individuals working together towards a more equitable future.
