Raul Espejel serves as Pro Mujer’s Chief Financial Officer, overseeing all finance-related activities for the global organization, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, and financial risk. Along with the rest of the senior management team, Raul is also deeply involved in the design and execution of Pro Mujer’s global strategy.
Raul brings over 25 years of experience in finance, capital markets and operations. Most recently, he was Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Logistics, a leading provider of integrated logistics services in Mexico, where he managed day-to-day operations for all country divisions and developed a long-term business and financial strategy for the group. Prior to that, Raul served as Chief Financial Officer at Tempus Quo Capital Management, and at Deutsche Bank, first as a Director for the Rates Group in London, and later on as Regional Head of the Institutional Client Group that includes Florida, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Raul worked at Citadel Investment Group as a Portfolio Manager and Strategist for the Credit and Securitized Products Lending departments. Before joining Citadel, Raul joined the Corporate Finance & Strategy practice at McKinsey & Company, where he worked for more than five years in various client and internal engagements related to M&A, joint ventures, alliances, risk management and strategy across various industries.
Raul studied Economics at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México and holds a PhD in Finance from the University of California, Berkeley. In 2014, he taught Finance at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) in Querétaro, Mexico.
