Nancy Pendarvis Harris has been Vice President at JSI Research and Training Institute, Inc. (JSI) for 27 years. She focuses on strategic planning, business development and public health, working to shape policy to meet the rapidly changing needs of worldwide health programs. Prior to joining JSI, Harris spent nine years as the Africa Director for Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) based in Nairobi, Kenya. Since 1981, she has directed large worldwide maternal child health and reproductive health programs. Early work at the grassroots level (via Peace Corps in Nicaragua) and extended residences in developing countries give her a solid understanding of the context in which development programs such as ProMujer’s must operate.
Nancy is fluent in French, proficient in Spanish and Kiswahili, and speaks a smattering of Russian, Georgian and Malagasy. Harris also serves on the board of Partners for Development (PFD) and Christian Connections in International Health (CCIH) and on numerous professional committees in her field.
