Maria C. Richter, is a full-time director of her own consulting firm, MCHR Consulting. Previously she was a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley. While at Morgan Stanley (1993-2002), she was Head of Independent Power and Structured Finance, Head of Investment Banking for Argentina, Chile, Peru and Uruguay and a Senior Banker in the Retail and Consumer Group. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Maria was a Vice President in Investment Banking at Salomon Brothers. Ms. Richter also spent seven years at The Prudential and its affiliate Prudential Power Funding.
Currently, Maria is a Non-Executive Director of National Grid plc and is Chairman of its Finance Committee. She is also on the Board of Directors of The Bessemer Trust Company and affiliates and is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Pro Mujer UK. She has also been a director of The Pantry, Inc. Vitec Group plc and of Western Electricity Coordinating Council.
A native of Panama, Maria resides between Panama, Paris and New York. She earned her undergraduate degree at Cornell University and a JurisDoctor degree from Georgetown University.
