Jennifer Mary Brooks

Jennifer is the Global Director of UN Relations for Microsoft Philanthropies. Her personal mission and her career are focused on creating a social impact. Gender diversity, and girls and women inclusion opportunities are an important driver of her work. As Director of UN Relations, she is responsible of developing and managing strategic UN partnerships aligned to Microsoft’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s). In this role she executes Philanthropies’ programs around Digital Skills, Digital Transformation, Humanitarian Action and advancing systematic sustainable policy change, creating partnership strategies across key UN agencies to drive thought leadership, digital inclusion, providing a social good impact, as well as driving our social good marketing efforts around SDG’s.

Previously, she was the Regional Director for Microsoft Philanthropies, Latin America. In her role, she was responsible for driving the strategic planning and execution of Microsoft’s Philanthropic programs, to empower people and organizations through technology to create digital inclusion. She focused her work in digital skills programs, especially for youth and young girls, as well as in technology for social impact initiatives to drive digital transformation for nonprofits. The Philanthropies programs were created and developed in partnership with governments, international organizations and nonprofits. Furthermore, Jennifer led the Technology for Social Impact Digital Transformation program for the region, to enable nonprofits to fulfill their mission; employee engagement and volunteer opportunities for employees, Humanitarian Action responses for natural disasters, including throughout social good marketing, awareness and advocacy communications.

In her previous role, as Communications Manager for the President of Microsoft Latin America, she was responsible for the strategy, leadership and execution of the internal and external communications and role of the President as Citizenship Ambassador. Prior to this position, Jennifer was the Marketing and Communications Lead for the Education Programs, Microsoft Latin America, focused on creating awareness, and impactful training campaigns reaching teachers and students to realize their full potential, working with government elites, academic experts, as well as managing specific education programs.

Before working for Microsoft, she worked for UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund), covering several roles at the Buenos Aires, Argentina, field office for South Cone. She was the Programs Assistant, Communications and Information Assistant, and further on Officer; providing communications strategies and support for the Programs Area. In the Programs Area, her work was focused on the compliance of children’s rights, their survival, their development and protection, guided by the Convention of the Rights of the Child, with emphasis in Child’s and Adolescents Rights, Education, Health, as well as women rights and gender matters.

She holds a Postgraduate in Public Policies and Poverty Reduction, from St. Andrew’s University and World Bank, and a BA in Social Studies and Education.
