Cesar Maita joined Pro Mujer in May 2016 as General Counsel. Cesar acts as key advisor to the CEO and to senior leaders on legal, compliance and corporate governance matters for the entire organization.
Cesar brings over 15 years of experience as an international in-house legal counsel, having worked at World, Latin American, EMEA and Asian Headquarters of major for profit and non-for- profit organizations. Most of his experience has been focused on the Microfinance and Development Finance sector in Latin America. Prior to joining Pro Mujer, Cesar worked during 11 years for Oikocredit, a private international financial development institution empowering women mainly through financing of Microfinance Institutions.
Cesar is a qualified Peruvian lawyer. He graduated from the University of Lima with a master’s degree in International Business Law from Leiden University and a Master of Business Administration degree from HES Amsterdam School of Business. He is currently following a PhD program in Development Anthropology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. Cesar is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Italian.
