New York, NY (January 15, 2020) – Pro Mujer, a leading social enterprise and pioneer in women’s empowerment in Latin America, announced today the appointment of Rolando Schmidt as Pro Mujer’s Chief Financial Officer on an interim basis. Also announced is the departure of Camilo Mendez, who formerly served as Chief Financial Officer and will remain close to the organization as a member of the Board of Directors of Pro Mujer Group, a consortium of financial and non-profit organizations delivering financial, health and education services to low-income women across the Latin American region.

With over 30 years of professional experience, the newly appointed Schmidt brings an ample trajectory leading the financial growth and expansion of international companies. This includes having served as Head of Shared Services at Lufthansa, where he led the planning, creation and start-up of the Global Business Services company to provide financial and accounting services to Lufthansa branches in the Americas. President and CEO of Pro Mujer, Maria Cavalcanti, commented, “Camilo concludes his tenure as our CFO having made an indelible contribution to Pro Mujer. We are grateful for his leadership and vision, and look forward to his continued involvement as a member of our Board of Directors. At the same time, we are excited to welcome Rolando to the Pro Mujer team.
