Mercado Pago and Pro Mujer Join Forces Once Again to Strengthen Women’s Entrepreneurship in Mexico

Mercado Pago and Pro Mujer have launched a new stage of their partnership to support women entrepreneurs in Mexico. This hybrid program aims to empower 200 women entrepreneurs through training, mentorship, and access to digital and financial tools.

Over six weeks, participants will receive business management training, personalized mentorship, and the opportunity to access seed capital of $10,000 MXN. They will also receive Mercado Pago payment terminals to enhance the management and growth of their businesses. Additionally, the program includes the creation of a digital community for women entrepreneurs to encourage experience sharing and strengthen support networks.

The program will take place in two states: the State of Mexico (October 7) and Nuevo León (October 16), with the support of the Undersecretariat for Social Investment and Strategic Partnerships, as well as the Directorate of Community Centers–Entrepreneurship. Plans are underway to replicate the program in other states across the country in 2026.

“Investing in women means investing in the development of our communities, and digitalization is a key tool for business growth,” said Vania Noguera, Project Manager at Emprende Pro Mujer. “We’re excited to begin this new phase of collaboration with Mercado Pago to bring these opportunities to more women entrepreneurs.”

In Mexico, 48% of new businesses are led by women, yet many continue to face significant barriers in accessing financing and digital tools. This initiative seeks to change that reality by promoting a model that combines training, mentorship, and technology to strengthen women’s economic autonomy and create a positive impact in their communities.
