Pro Mujer and Brubank Join Forces to Support the Economic Autonomy of Women Entrepreneurs in Argentina

Pro Mujer, the social enterprise with more than 35 years of experience advancing gender equality in Latin America, and Brubank, the largest digital bank in Argentina, announced a strategic partnership to support the financial inclusion of women entrepreneurs in Argentina.

One of the primary challenges women entrepreneurs face in Argentina is a lack of access to adequate and timely financing. Despite their potential to create jobs, boost local economies, and drive innovation, many women entrepreneurs are limited by structural barriers that hinder their inclusion in the formal financial system.

According to a study by the Inter-American Development Bank (2020), only 20.5% of businesses led by women use access to bank loans to finance their investment, compared to 42.9% for men. In addition, an estimated 60% of women-led businesses are financially constrained. This not only limits the growth of women-led businesses, but also perpetuates economic gender gaps. Addressing this challenge is key to building a more inclusive and resilient economy.

The partnership between the two organizations seeks to address this issue and provide access to financing for women entrepreneurs who graduate from Emprende, Pro Mujer’s online entrepreneurial skilling platform. To date, more than 200,000 women from 23 countries in Latin America have participated in the program. Participants will be able to access loans offered by Brubank without the need for a formal income or credit history, eliminating one of the main barriers women entrepreneurs face when financing their projects.

This partnership is a unique opportunity to connect Pro Mujer’s deep understanding of the reality and needs of female entrepreneurs with Brubank’s potential for impact as an inclusive, 100% digital bank. The collaboration will allow more women to access the financial tools they need to launch, grow, or scale their businesses and strengthen their economic autonomy.

“At Pro Mujer, we’ve seen firsthand how when women thrive, they become agents of change that positively impact their family and community,” said Carmen Correa, CEO of Pro Mujer. “This agreement allows us to provide even more comprehensive support, offering women not only entrepreneurial skilling and financial education, but also access to gender-sensitive financial services designed for their needs and backed by an innovative bank like Brubank.”

“Our mission is to promote financial inclusion, and this agreement allows us to empower women entrepreneurs through access to credit so they can fulfill their dreams and contribute to the economic and social development of their communities,” added Juan Bruchou, Co-founder and CEOof Brubank. “Together with Pro Mujer, we can create new opportunities and encourage women entrepreneurs to become leaders of change and build a better future.”

This collaboration is part of Pro Mujer’s 2030 Strategic Plan, which seeks to impact the lives of 5 million women by providing health services, entrepreneurial skilling, and financial inclusion through strategic partnerships with mission-aligned organizations.
